Happy Religious Sunday From Me To You-WOMEN...."Should Christian women wear make-up or jewelry?"

This is one very common question most of us ask often, and we get confused courtesy of many churches-Denominations and their different doctrines/teachings. The most important thing is to follow what is in the Bible itself........

Question: "Should Christian women wear make-up or jewelry?"

Answer: First Samuel 16:7b declares, “The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” First Timothy 2:9-10 tells us, “I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.” Paul did not forbid women from wearing jewelry, makeup, or braided hair—rather he tells women to not let their outward appearance become more important than their inner beauty.

Peter reminds us of this spiritual fact: “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight” (1 Peter 3:3-5). There is nothing wrong with wearing jewelry, makeup, or braided hair as long as it is done in a modest manner. A woman should not be so focused on her outward appearance that she neglects her inner spiritual life. The Bible focuses on the heart. If a woman is spending too much time and money on her appearance, the problem is that the woman’s priorities are wrong. Expensive jewelry and clothing are the results of the problem, not the problem itself.

Stevie Wonder Files For Divorce

After 11 years of marriage, legendary musician Stevie Wonder is filing for divorce.
According to court papers filed July 26, the "Superstition" singer served his wife and fashion designer Kai Millard Morris with papers.
Though the couple wed in 2001, they separated in 2009. Wonder cited irreconcilable differences for ending the marriage.

Wonder has also requested joint custody of their two sons but agreed to pay child and spousal support. The papers were filed in California, where the pair resides.

This isn't the first court case the music star has faced within the past month. His cousin and his girlfriend tried to blackmail Wonder for millions with footage of the singer's late mother and his son, of whom he is protective of.
Wonder was previously married to Syreeta Wright from 1970 to 1972. This is his second divorce.

Up, Close And Personal With Karen Igho-Big Brother Africa 2011 Winner

Recently Big Brother Africa 2011 star, Karen Igho, talked about how she became an on-air-personality
Working with Naija FM and more.......

I was just on my own and minding my business when somebody from Mnet just called me and asked if I could go on air. I said I didn’t know and that I wasn’t a radio presenter. One guy also called me and said they wanted me on board at Naija FM. I said, ‘God Almighty! How dis tin go be nah?’ I had never done anything like this before. So I wondered where to start from. I told them that if they wanted me to be like the original Karen, to be myself and not try to fake anything, then I would consider the job. The first time I went on air, I was very nervous. Now, I am very okay. With God’s help and guidance, I will do it. I see it as a piece of cake. The show is broadcast in Pidgin English. You know it is so much fun for me to speak in pidgin. I no see am as wahala. I’m not train as a presenter, but I’m going to do my best. I’m also going to put in my best for people to enjoy. And l hope that the listeners will enjoy the show.

Why I want to excel

I am a jack-of-all trades. It is not my fault that God blessed me with many talents. Na bad tin? Make I no collect the blessings Baba God give me? I can’t say I am a great actor. But what I know is that I have done a couple of good movies. We will just be doing them like that. I just hope I am good at everything I do. It is one thing to want to do everything and another thing to be good. I have appeared in Heavy Duty and BlackBerry Babes, which will be released very soon. They are more of comedy movies. You watched Big Brother Africa, I was just original there. They gave us tasks, which we carried out. So I was nobody before now. Since God has blessed me, I want to become somebody in everything I do, be it movies or radio and even modelling. I am my own critic. I know that my voice is not good enough. So I will never carry a microphone to go and sing. People will laugh at me. In fact, I will be the first person to laugh at myself. Music is not for me in any way. I can to do many other things, but music is not it.

Life as a star

As I said, I was a nobody before. I can never forget how it used to be in those days when I was nothing. But then again, I’m still the same person. No matter how big you are and how you manage your fame and money, never forget the people who put you there. Never forget how you climbed to the height you are now. Always remember to be grateful and humble. I am still the same person. Nothing has changed about me.

My grandmother

I can never forget her. She was with me when life was difficult. She is very fine now. I just built a house for her in the village. She is very happy about it. She was overjoyed when I handed her the keys to the house. She said she couldn’t believe that her granddaughter could do this for her. She was just praising me and calling me ‘Kakadudukaka.’ That is the name she calls me. She has so many names for me, including ‘Special Pikin.’

Life after BBA

Everything is just about Big Brother Africa. BBA made me. I have been busy since I left the house. I have been travelling all over Nigeria and outside the country for shows, hosting of shows, making appearances, acting, modelling and music. I am just everywhere.

Clothing line

I am now a business woman. It is not easy. I am loving it. My fans call me Karenified so I decided to have my own clothing line that I call Karenified. We make ready to wear outfits like T-shirts, tank tops and bum shorts. I design and produce them.

Getting engaged

I don’t know how that story got viral on the Internet. Rumour mongers went to town with the story. A fan asked me to marry him. People didn’t even wait to find out if I accepted the proposal and they went to town with the story that I was engaged. I tweeted that a fan proposed. Is it how you do it? Somebody will propose to you and you will just say ‘yes.’ Certainly marriage is on my mind. Don’t you want me to get married? I want to get married and have children. I know that my husband is outside there waiting for me. Anytime I want to get married, I will get one.

My fans

I love my fans. I love the love the attention they give me. I go on the streets and they shout my name. How I wish I can always return the love they give me. But it is not every time you would be in the mood for such. But most times, I try to be happy and be grateful to God and my mum and my siblings as well.

Davido fights with taxi driver over girlfriend

A taxi driver, Femi Ajibola, will never forget July 1, 2012 in a hurry. At about 5.30 pm on that day, he received a phone call from a young woman in the Lekki area of Lagos and had quickly answered the subsequent invitation to pick her up.
“The lady introduced her as Susie. She called me to come and pick her and her friend. They told me to come pick them up at Mobolaji Estate near Lekki Second Roundabout. Later, I took them to a hotel at Lekki Phase I to meet one of their friends.
“From there we left for Beni Apartment in Victoria Island. They said that I should wait for them and promised to be back soon. Not long afterwards, one of the girls began to scream as she was coming towards my car. Behind her, I saw David Adeleke (Davido) and four of his bouncers.
“The girl was running towards me. I think they men had assaulted her. She said I should open the door for her so that she would enter. I opened the door for her; as she was about to enter the car, Davido caught up with her and slapped her face,” Ajibola said.
The cab at the scene of  the incident

In a bid to save the girl from further assault, Ajibola switched on the engine of his cab and was about to drive off when the youthful singer suddenly dealt him a slap.
The cabbie said, “He left the girl and faced me. He said I was the one that brought the girls, that I am their boyfriend. He knocked my face against the steering wheel of the cab. This made blood begin to come out from my ear drums. He seized my car keys and in the process, injured me.
“Before I knew what was going on, his four bouncers began to beat me up. They beat me severely and took my car keys from me and chased me away. This happened around 11 pm. I went to report the matter at the Bar Beach Police Station, which was the nearest one. I was asked to come back the next morning to report the case.”
Unfortunately, Ajibola had just taken delivery of the vehicle he was using for his transport business and had not paid the dealer in full before the incident. He said that the balance of N100,000 was in the car before the incident had happened. In the whole confusion, he could not pick the money as he was ordered to leave the car by the bouncers.

“I had taken delivery of the vehicle about two weeks before the incident. I had paid my dealer N50,000 and the other N100,000 was in the car because I could not pay it in the bank. The money was in the car and since they had sent me away from the car, I could not retrieve it.
“The following day, I did not find the money in the cab. They did not even let me wind the car windows up before they chased me out. I noticed that the car was ransacked. I managed to obtain Davido’s phone number and called him. But he did not pick his call. So I sent him a text message. Thirty minutes after I sent him the message, someone picked up the call and promised to pass the message to him. I did not get my car key throughout that day. I went to the police station to file a report,” Ajibola said.
“When all efforts to contact Davido proved futile, the police had to go to Susie. Unfortunately, she was of no help.”
“On the fourth day, I went to Susie’s house with the police. The ladies said they were not the ones that beat me. They said the only help they could render was to give me Davido’s address and that they had since settled their differences. The whole point of the police visit was to use the girls to get to Davido, but the girls made a phone call to an aunt of theirs and the policemen left them, saying that they were not the ones that assaulted me,” the cab driver said.
CRIME DIGEST learnt that the genesis of the fight was because the singer was allegedly caught cheating on his girlfriend.
Ajibola continued, I learnt that Davido was dating one of the girls I picked up. They went to his hotel room and caught him with another girl who was their friend. This is what I learnt caused the fight. The police collected Davido’s phone number and called him, but he kept asking them if they knew whose son he was.
“He warned the policemen not to threaten or intimidate him. They in turn told him that they were just inviting him for questioning and not to arrest him. Since then, the effort to get him has not been forthcoming.  I had to go to the hospital because I was really injured. Davido gave me a blow to the ear which made it to bleed.
“One day, the DPO of the station assured me that they would make sure they get him. He was irritated by Davido’s boasting that he was immune to arrest. On July 13, one Sharon Adeleke asked me to come and collect the key of my car at 1004. I told her to come and meet me at the police station. She did not turn up till the DPO intervened.
“The DPO invited the Sharon Adeleke, she eventually came to drop the key of the car. I told them that I could not just collect the key of the car without documentation that they gave me the key of the car without a penny, though I lost money and my car got damaged. When I said this, the DPO told me that I did not look like someone that was worth N100,000.
“He said I have no proof that there was money in the car and that all he was after was to retrieve my car keys for me. He said that if I wanted to do anything I should go to court and he ordered me out of his office. Till this moment I have not received my car keys or an apology from the singer,” Ajibola said.
When contacted on the telephone, both Davido and the Divisional Police Officer of Bar Beach police station, Fakeye Adegoke, refused to answer their calls nor did they reply the text messages sent to them.
But Davido’s publicist, Valerie Obaze, denied her client’s involvement in the incident.
“Davido has no knowledge of any incident involving the assault of a taxi driver or the illegal seizure of his car. He does not condone violence of any sort and will not be commenting on this untrue allegation,” she said via email
However, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide promised to get back to CRIME DIGEST with the facts of the matter later.

Abuja Taxi Driver Returns N18M And Gets N30K Reward

That honesty is the best policy has played its way into the life of a cab man in Abuja recently. The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Abuja has rewarded Umeh Usuah, an Abuja taxi cab driver with N30,000 for returning the sum of N18mn left in his cab by a passenger who he recently alighted at an hotel.

Mr. Usuah said he was at the car-wash when he discovered a bag left in his car by a passenger and he decided to do the right thing by returning it to the owner.

For this exemplary display of honesty, the Abuja taxi cab driver who plies the Abuja Airport road route was recognised by the NOA and handed a reward of N30,000.

While presenting the cash reward to Mr. Usuah, the Director-General of the Agency, Mr. Mike Omeri, said any Nigerian who displays such exemplary behaviour such as Usuah’s deserves to be celebrated.

He said the award would be given to any Nigerian irrespective of status or class that showed act that depicted the values and culture of Nigeria.

The DG continued saying, “Those who often saw Nigerians in bad light should desist from that and began to see her in good light, adding that peace, honesty and love was a Nigerian factor.”

He said that for Usuah, a taxi driver, to have returned N18mn showed that Nigerian still had men and women of integrity.

Narrating the circumstances which led to his returning the money, the cab-driver said, “My mind went back to the man who I dropped at the hotel and I immediately alerted my chairman and he instructed me to go back to the place where I dropped him. I saw him and delivered his bag to him.”

According to report, a representative of the Aviation Minister, Mr. Oche Elias, said it was a rare display of honesty, adding that it was “a huge integrity and trust exhibited by Usuah”.

Elias said the aviation ministry would organise a dinner in Usuah’s honour to show to the world that integrity paid.

Naeto C's Controversial Wedding Gift: Larry Onuegbu Reacts; 'Dumebi Is A Fraudster, He Still Sleeps With His Ex-Wife'

If gist coming from the camp of Auto Lounge boss, Larry Onuegbu is anything to go by, then, the controversies surrounding the Porsche Cayenne SUV presented to Naeto C on his wedding day may not die down soon. This is because the man alleged to have sold a 2009 model of the 'toy' as 2012 to Dumebi Kachukwu, Larry, has reacted to the allegations surrounding the wonder-on-wheel.
Larry Onuegbu
Recall that on July 21, 2012, this controversial car was first reported to have been bought by D'Banj and presented to Naeto C. Soon after, other reports said Larry Onuegbu bought the car bought asked D'Banj to make the presentation for him.

This did not end there as it was later reported that Naeto C's former in-law, Dumebi Kachukwu actually bought the expensive car but told D'banj to make the presentation in order for him not to take the shine of the day at his former in-law's wedding.

 Dumebi
Just as the story was almost ending as a forgotten issue, reports surfaced again that the reported 16 million naira car, which Larry puts at 14million naira, was a 2009 model as against 2012 model Larry allegedly sold the car as to Dumebi.

According to Larry, "Dumebi was aware that the Porsche car is a brand new 2010 model and he made a delivery request of the car to Naeto C's wedding which was honoured as the car was parked in front of the reception.

“When Dumebi arrived at the venue of the wedding, he thanked me for the delivery and promised to send a cheque of 14million naira on Monday but I didn't see it.

So, I called him on Tuesday and he promised again to send the money to my bank account on Wednesday, but by Thursday evening, when I didn't see my money, I called him again to ask for the 14million for the Porsche car and the 4million he owned me for an Infinity car he bought from me in January this year.

"An invoice was sent to him on request, but he started telling me stories that he wanted to check if the car is not stolen. I was annoyed but after he made his confirmation, it was revealed that I bought the car from one Mr Peter last year July, which is the truth.

"This same Dumebi Kachukwu was sighted with Larry at the reception and his ex wife Somachi Chikwe (Neato C’s Sister ) and kids at the wedding. They later spent a night at Four Point Hotel, Lekki that day."

Larry stated further, “Dumebi is building a mansion in Abuja for his ex-wife, who he lied to be legally separated from while they are still sleeping with each other."

Larry also said that Dumebi gave his used BMW 3 Series to Neato C as a replacement to the controversial wedding gift.

Larry, who has been in the car business for the past 12years, made it known that Dumebi brought back the car to his office with a flimsy excuse that the car was fairly used. He said, "I sent him away with the car, I told him to bring the car back the way he took it away."

The Auto Lounge CEO, who is also the C.E.O of Mega Point Ltd located at Akin Adesola, Lagos, is one of the top luxury auto dealer companies. Larry Onuegbu says his businesses are open to anyone who doubts his integrity as he has nothing to hide.

He insists that Dumebi must pay him to the last kobo because this is not the first time he is reportedly doing such things. He said Dumebi would not go scot-free as he is ready to battle it out with him with his last blood.

Larry revealed that he has nothing to do with D'banj and Naeto C whom Dumebi called up to start saying unsavory things about him on the internet. He made it known that he took care of Naeto C's bachelor's party at Auto Lounge without charging a dime because he sees the rapper as a young person who is full of potentials.

He stated clearly that he has nothing against them because the person he has dealings with is Dumebi. Furthermore, Larry pointed out that Dumebi has threatened to blackmail him.

According to him, Dumebi claims that he has blackmailed Fmr. Vice President Atiku, so Larry would be an easy prey.

In his words, “We have had issues like this before on a Bentley which he returned, claiming that it was a stolen car. I took that car back because I didn't want to go down with him. This time, he should just give me my money because I don't even know where the Porsche is and I have been receiving phone calls from different numbers with threats that I won't live to receive that Dumebi's money.

"I have reported that to the necessary authorities. I have also been receiving calls all over the world from people who keep asking if I am in police custody. I tell them that I was never involved in any shady deals. Besides, I have never spent a second in police custody.

Larry expressed shock over Dumebi's threat of blackmail in the media when all he did was to do him a favour. He also informed that Skymits Motors at Ikeja claims Dumebi owes 32million naira.

Larry said, “Dumebi cannot prove what he is doing for a living because he is a fraudster, money launderer and I can match him one-on-one anywhere in life. Don't use me to impress anybody.

You want to return the Porsche after D'banj has announced that the car is a wedding gift to the couple in your name. We agreed on everything that he's going to pay on Monday, but now that he has shined with the car and can't raise the money he's telling me stories."

We have reasons for all our activities –Boko Haram

The Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Restore Order yesterday confiscated about eight rocket launchers among other dangerous weapons from the Jama’atu Ahlus Sunnati Lidda’awati Wal Jihad, otherwise known as Boko Haram Boko Haram sect in Borno.
The spokesman of the task force, Lt. Col. Sagir Musa in a press statement last night said the members of the JTF in conjunction with the Department of State Services, Multi National Joint Task Force and other security agencies intercepted large consignment of arms and ammunition including 8 Rocket Propelled Launchers at Daban Masara in Monguno LocalGovernment Area, Borno state based on intelligence.
He said “the incident happened at about 9 pm on Monday 30 July 2012 during which two suspected Boko Haram terrorists escorting the consignment were killed in an exchange of fire.”
Musa further observed the large consignment was been moved by the sect members from Baga/Daban Masara heading towards Maiduguri in a blue Hilux vehicle with registration number NGU19XA.
He gave the details of the consignment inside the vehicle recovered eight rocket launchers, 10 rocket bombs, 10 rocket chargers, two AK 47 rifles, 13 magazines with 6 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and a Bank PHB ATM card
Meanwhile, the Boko Haram sect had yesterday claimed responsibility for the attacks on police formations in Sokoto.
This was contained in an email statement sent to journalists in Maiduguri, Borno state capital.
In the statement signed by the sect’s spokesman, Abul Qaqa said ‘All praises goes to Almighty Allah. This is a very important message from the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad.
‘We wish to extend our profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for giving us the opportunity to fulfill the promise we made on launching spontaneous attacks in Sokoto.
‘We have reasons for all our activities and we only kill those who wronged us. We attacked Sokoto because many of our brethren have been incarcerated there. We are gladdened by the successes we recorded at the office of the AIG in Marina and the police divisional office at Unguwan Rogo as well as the police station at Arkila.
‘We wish to reiterate that our crusade is not for personal gain; it is meant to ensure the establishment of an Islamic state by liberating all Muslims from the excesses of the infidels.
We strongly believe that Almighty Allah will reward us with his famous paradise in the hereafter as  he rightly said in chapter 9 verse 111 of the Holy Qur’an.
‘We want to stress that in our struggle, we only kill government functionaries, security agents, Christians and anyone who pretends to be a Muslim but engage in assisting security agents to arrest us’.
‘We wish to strongly warn people to desist from collaborating with security agents. The fact is that we are the warriors of the Almighty and even the security forces are finding it difficult to contain our activities.
‘We are also aware of the activities of some women who have been recruited to spy on us. This is a final warning to all of them. By God, whenever we catch any woman spying on us, we would slaughter her like ram.
‘We are responsible for the attacks in Bauchi and at the residence of Namadi Sambo in Zaria as well as the one in Damaturu where we bombed a patrol vehicle.
‘We equally dealt a big blow on JTF operatives in Maiduguri who, out of frustration went back and killed innocent and defenceless citizens.
‘It is erroneous to say that we are killing Muslims. We do not kill innocent Muslims. The fact is the bottom line of our struggle is to set the Muslims free from enslavement. We only kill the unbelievers.

Justus Esiri and Segun Arinze were robbed in london hotel

News coming from London about two Nollywood icons, Segun Arinze and Justus Esiri is not palatable as we learnt that they were robbed in their London Hotel located in Surrey, United Kingdom some days ago.

According to the gist gathered, the ugly incident allegedly happened at Teavelodge in Surrey, UK. The hotel had three keys shared among the clientele, the hotel manager and the female Polish cleaner who cleans the apartment.

The actors have been in London for a month now staging a theatre tour including 'The king must dance naked' and other stage plays. They have also been at the Nigeria House, Royal Theatre, Stratford, London.

On that fateful day, the actors reportedly went for their usual rehearsal. On their return, they noticed that their belongings had been tampered with. After doing a check, they discovered that some valuables have grown wings and flew away.

Segun reportedly lost his Ipad while Justus Esiri was unlucky as his international passport with various visas in it, his travelling documents, laptop, monies and several other valuables got missing.

Though the matter is said to have reported to the police, but no arrest has been made yet. We also learnt that the hotel had no CCTV cameras to capture the alleged robbery footage.

However, on Justus Esiri's lost passport, the Nigeria mission in the UK reportedly issued a new passport to him on self-recognition. This, as were gathered, was done based on his National Honours of Order of the Niger (OON) award.

Segun, Justus and other cast including Olu Jacobs, Joke Silva, Bimbo Akintola and others are expected back in Nigeria on Monday, August 6, 2012.

La La Vazquez Anthony frolicks on beach in Malibu as husband Carmelo Anthony competes for gold at London Olympics

While her husband shooting for a gold medal with Team USA at the London Olympics, La La Vazquez is taking part in another great American tradition - frolicking at the beach.
The reality star, 33, was snapped having a grand time with pals on a beach in Malibu Tuesday, the same day Anthony, the Knicks' All-Star forward, took on Tunisia in a preliminary round game.

Vasquez didn't look like she had a care in the world, flaunting her figure in a turqoise bikini top, flowered bottoms and giant gold hoop earrings.

Anthony, meanwhile, has been struggling to bring his A-game to London, which he's attributed to the officiating in the international game.

"Every game has been officiated differently," he said Monday, referencing the team's face-off against France Sunday. "That game was just crazy. I've never been part of a game like that."
Anthony, 28, had been dominant in the five friendlies ahead of the Olympics but struggled Sunday, going 3-for-10 from the field coming off the bench in the Americans' 98-71 win over France.

"I'm not used to it, coming off the bench," he said.
Despite his struggles, Anthony had at least one VIP fan cheering for him Sunday.
First Lady Michelle Obama gave him and his teammates a hug following their win Sunday, and Anthony confirmed that "she's a Melo fan."
