Gov Fashola Donates N4.5m For Ngozi Nwosu’s Kidney Operation

Celebrated Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu who has been battling Kidney and liver failure and is  barely hanging on to  life will be ending 2012 with, at least, a smile.

Just this evening, on the last day of 2012, Lagos State Governor Raji Fashola on behalf of the Lagos State Government donated the sum of N4.5m to complete the money needed for Nwosu’s operation.

Sources say Fashola heard about Nwosu’s case a few weeks ago while reading a publication and asked one of his protocol officers to get in touch with her.

‘They got in touch with us and have asked us to meet with them’, the source said.

Covenant University Expels 200 Students For Not Attending Church Service

 About 200 students may have been expelled by the authorities of Covenant University, Cannanland, Ota, Ogun State, recently for what was described as “disregard of paramount core values.”

Frustrated and angered by the development, some of the affected students who gave account of what happened battled emotions while narrating their situations to Saturday Vanguard recently. They however pleaded with the school authorities to tamper justice with mercy in order to save their future.

Ngozi Nwosu Of Fuju House Of Commotion Needs N6m to Stay Alive

It’s another sad Nollywood story, but this has nothing to do with movie scripts or screenplays; another Nigerian actress is on the brink of losing her life if something is not done urgently.

Ngozi Nwosu’s deteriorating health has been in the news for several months.

Although the exact nature of her illness is unknown, merely looking at her is enough to see that something major has gone wrong.

The actress’ sickness has been tied to a lingering kidney problem.

Those close to her say she’s been in and out of different hospitals, and they’re now rallying round, hoping to raise funds needed for treatment. They’re trying to make sure her story doesn’t end like that of fellow actors James ‘Giringory’ Iroha and Enebeli Elebuwa, both of whom passed away in 2012.

After spending days on end frolicking around overseas together, ride-or-die Rih-Rih is back in the city of lights rollin’ solo while Chris is off to the next stop on his tour….with Karrueche not far behind.
The tripod seems to be playing a game of jet-setting musical chairs, as oochie-coochie Kae is reportedly headed to Paris to put it on Chris in some work with her brand partner Ugo for their upcoming clothing line “The Kill.“

Meanwhile, Roc Nation rebel chick Rih stepped out in a casual all black get up in L.A., while her lovesick loverboy could be seen from a mile away with the neon-yellow jacket he was rocking out and about in Paris.

Nelson Mandela Hospitalized In South Africa

  Former South African president Nelson Mandela was admitted to hospital on Saturday for medical tests, although the government said there was no cause for alarm.
A statement from President Jacob Zuma’s office gave no details of the condition of the 94-year-old anti-apartheid leader. 

“Former President Mandela will receive medical attention from time to time which is consistent with his age,” the statement said.
“President Zuma assures all that Madiba is doing well and there is no cause for alarm,” it added, referring to Mandela by his clan name.

Nigerian Oil Tycoon topples Oprah Winfrey as the world’s richest black woman

Oprah Winfrey has lost her long-held title as the richest black woman in the world to a Nigerian oil tycoon, according to a report by an African business magazine.

Edging out Oprah is Folorunsho Alakija, a 61-year-old woman from Nigeria who is reportedly worth at least $3.2 billion, or roughly $500 million more than Oprah’s $2.7 billion net worth, Ventures Africa reported.

Winner of Big Brother Africa 2012, Keagan Petersen In Auto Crash, Damages Arm

2012 Big Brother StarGame winner, Keagan Petersen was involved in a serious car crash yesterday, Sunday, November 25, 2012 in Cape Town, South Africa. The auto accident, as we gathered, has left him with a damaged arm in three different places.

According to him, as posted through his Facebook page, "So, [I] was in a big car accident this morning, [my] arm [was] shattered in three places. To the guy, who was driving on my side of the road, I forgive you. Much love people, enjoy your weekend!"

 Keagan was admitted at the Constantiaberg Hospital, Cape Town, South Africa. We hear he is in a good condition now.

Jonathan commends UNIBEN for standard

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan, Saturday, commended the University of Benin (UNIBEN) for being the best university in the country and sub-Sahara Africa and urged other Nigerian universities to live up to the standard required for the growth of education in the country.

The president, who spoke through Professor Patrick Onolemenmen of the National Universities Commission (NUC), at the 38th convocation of the university, admonished Vice-Chancellors to key into the developmental agenda of the Federal Government, adding that they should send proposals that will help address the challenges of the nation.

In the United States, this event surely would have been traumatizing. But in Nigeria, where Oliver lived until he recently got asylum status, it almost cost him his life.

Oliver, still trembling from fear, did not want to use his last name. “I used to live with my mother, but now she said I should never come back,” he said. “She is the only family I have.”
The Nigerian Senate has passed a bill that criminalizes homosexuality, forcing even families to report their loved ones if they are in same-sex relationships. Its House of Representatives will soon vote on it.

Swedish Woman Charged With Necrophilia After Getting Caught With Hundreds Of Skeleton Bones That She Used In “Sexual Situations” Plus Photos

The Swedish woman is suspected of using 100 parts, which included six skulls and one backbone, in ‘sexual situations’ and was charged with violating the peace of the deceased, prosecutors said.
