Cadillac
Escalades, helicopters, private jets -- Jay-Z's taken them all to get
to his concerts. But the R train? Now, that's a first.
Jay-Z ditched the usual tinted windows and arrived for his final
night of eight at Brooklyn's Barclays Center like a true New Yorker,
riding the Brooklyn-bou nd R train from Canal St. to the Atlantic Avenue/Barcl ays
Center stop. Those minding their business on the subway were caught off
guard when one of the world's biggest hip-hop stars boarded the train
some three and half hours before showtime. He was escorted by security
but still managed to attract a crowd.
"Jay-Z on the R train earlier today," read one tweet from @Nigel_D, accompanied by a photo of Hova and an older woman on the train. Classic.
"So I'm in the train station minding my own business and Jay-Z walks by. Wtf." Instagram user rareunlimite d wrote alongside a photo of Jay-Z on the subway platform.
Honestly, we would have probably freaked out too.
Jay-Z's final concert is being streamed live on his new Life+Times YouTube channel. The "Brooklyn Go Hard" rapper will release an EP of live material recorded at tonight's final show on Oct. 9.
