American Nurse “Accidentally” Throws Kidney That Was To Be Used For A Transplant In The Trash

 An Ohio nurse accidentally put a kidney in the trash, prompting the University of Toledo Medical Center to suspend its live donor program as it investigates the incident. 13 teenage Chinese prostitutes have been arrested and detained by the Nigerian Immigration Service following a raid of their base on Emina Crescent, off Toyin Street, Ikeja. The immigration service raided the apartment following a tip off.

More than 40 teenage girls were brought into the country and camped in an apartment for Nigerian politicians, business executives and expatriates to hire for sex at the cost of between $1,000 and $2,500. The cartel was run by Chinese couple named Sun and Yin Li.

Anthonia Egbuna, Nigerian Prostitute Murdered By Her Italian Boyfriend

An Italian man has been arrested over the murder of a Nigerian prostitute after police searching her apartment found a short story he wrote with close similarities to the killing.

Police in the northern Italian city of Turin discovered the nine-page story entitled "The Rose and the Lion" among the belongings of Anthonia Egbuna, whose body was fished out of the river Po in February, a Carabinieri spokesman told Reuters on Wednesday. She had been stabbed to death.

N5,000 Note: Nigerians say ‘No’ + Experts Flay CBN Over The Issue

Experts across the country have condemned plans by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to introduce the N5,000 denomination and turn the N5, N10 and N20 notes into coins.
The experts who spoke with LEADERSHIP WEEKEND insisted that what the country needed was not the redesigning of its currency or introduction of higher denominations but managing the economy to diversify its revenue base away from dependence on oil, creating jobs, reducing inflation rate, helping the manufacturing sector to grow and fighting corruption.

The coordinator of Christian Awareness Initiative of Nigeria (CHAIN), Pastor Caleb Ma’aji, was reacting to a statement credited to the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Nurudeen, who was quoted as saying, “Nigeria is one of the most Christian-populated Islamic nations in the world.”

CBN Introduces N5000 Note

News just coming in reveals that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) under the leadership of Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has announced the introduction of N5000 denomination into the system.

Reports say that the 5000 Naira note will have faces of three late prominent female Nigerians on it.

The faces are late politician and social mobiliser, Margaret Ekpo (1914 - 2006);  late politician and activist Hajia Gambo Sawaba (1933 - 2001) and late politician and women's right activist Funmilayo Kuti (1900  -1978).

Recall that this proposal has been on for some time now. This latest development may put that to rest. The nation already has N5, N10, N20, N50, N100, N200, N500 and N1000 notes in the system.

Two murder suspects who were paraded today by the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, Echezona Nwabufor, 33, and Ezekiel Nnechuwu Olisa Eloka, 23, have narrated how they drugged the daughter of a retired General, Miss Cynthia Akuzogwu Udoka, 25, and strangled her in order to steal her money.

One of the suspects, Eloka, said they killed Cynthia because they thought she had a lot of money in her possession. But after the dastardly act, they did not find a reasonable amount of money on her.

Phone Seller Arrested With N27m Hard Drug

Officers of Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have apprehended a 26-year old man in connection with 8.5kg of methamphetamine concealed inside metal pipes, the agency said on Tuesday.

The suspect, Afunaya Thaddeus Izunna, who sells phone accessories at Ikeja, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, was found at the weekend to be in possession of the drug during the screening of passengers on Ethiopian airline flight to New Delhi, India.

A Nigerian student is languishing in Ukrainian jail for allegedly defending himself against six teenagers who attacked him in an entrance to his apartment block on November, 5 last year in Luhanski,
