Prison sources disclosed that Orji died on Friday morning.
He has been going through a lot of psychiatric problems but hospitals that he was refered to for treatment rejected him. Yaba Psychiatric hospital in Lagos told authoritaties that they dont have facilities for long time treatment. Another Psychiatric hospital in Ogun State also rejected him.
Prison officials disclosed that Clifford Orji died in his sleep but an autoposy will be carried out to find out the actual cause of his death.
Clifford Orji was arrested in 1999 at Toyota Bus Stop on the Apapa-Oshodi expressway in Lagos.He was allegedly caught with part of human parts, mobile phones and a large sum of money. The prosecutors in the case says his alleged unstable mind is the reason why trial has been delayed.
